The following information aims to help you understand how and why Quasar AS ("Quasar", "we" or "us") collects and uses information about you when you use our sites, mobile apps and any other products or services (collectively, "the Services") or when you interact with us. This Privacy Policy applies to all of our Services.

What is collected and how it is used

Upon account creation you are required to provide a username, password and an email address. The username you provide is public and does not have to be related to any real information about you. Your email address is used to verify your account to prevent spam. Your email address may also be used to help recover lost credentials for your account or for us to inform you about changes to this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Use. Your email address is not public and will not be shared. The IP-address from which you registered your account is stored. The IP-address is not public and is only stored in case of serious legal pursuits. You also have the option to submit additional information for your account, such as a profile picture. Upon login we store information about your session to help secure your account. This includes the user-agent string and IP-address for the entirety of your sign-in session on that device. This data is deleted when you log out from the device. You can delete all session information and sign out from all devices under the account menu when signed in on the website.

The content you submit to the Services is collected and stored by us. This includes reviews and replies to reviews for assets, posts and replies to posts for assets and groups, reports you submit for content and interactions with us. This type of content may include text, images and links.

Information about the actions you take when using the Services is collected. This includes actions such as upvoting and downvoting content, reporting content and applying for group memberships. We collect information about your interaction with groups, such as your membership status.

You may also choose to submit other information to the Services through forms, questionnaires, support requests and similar.

Automatically collected data

We may collect additional information automatically from you when you access and use the Services for security, analytical and performance optimization purposes. This may include page visits, your user-agent string, browser type, operating system, the requested url and links you click.

To help us collect these types of information we might use cookies, which are pieces of data your browser stores and sends back to us when making requests. Similar technologies, such as local storage, is included in this definition. You can find more information about how cookies are used by us in our cookie notice. Information collected by third parties

Aksje.io may display some linked content on the Services via "embeds". For example, reviews, posts and comments linking to YouTube or Facebook may load the linked content within the Services directly from those services to your device so you don't have to leave the Services to view it. The Services does not control how third-party services collects data when they serve you their content via these embeds. Therefore, embedded content is not covered by this privacy policy but by the policies of the service from which the content is embedded.

We use the collected data for a various of purposes:

The aksje.io platform is built upon user submitted content and by using the Services you are directing us to share this information publicly and freely. Submitting content to public parts of the Services will make the content available to anyone using the Services. While certain parts of the Services may be marked as private, such as groups, this can be changed at any time. Making the content of formerly private groups available for all to see.

Your public user profile displays parts of your activity on the Services, such as your review, post and reply history. The number of reviews, posts, replies, likes and groups are visible on your profile page for any user of the Services to see. This content is used to calculate a score for your user, representing your activity on the Services, which is available for anyone using the services to see.

Your choice

You may, of course, choose not to share your personally-identifiable information with us. Choosing to do so will prevent us from providing you with the full list of features and functionalities found on the Services. If you are a registered user with us (as defined in the Terms of Use) you may at any time alter or delete account information by visiting the account menu while signed in.

Before processing requests on your behalf we need to verify your ownership of the data. Any request on behalf of an account must be sent from the same email address that has been verified for the user.

The security of your data is of highest priority to us. We take measures to protect your information from theft, unauthorized access, loss, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

While we strive for the highest levels of security, remember that there currently are no methods of data transmission or electronic storage that is 100% secure. If we ever learn of a security breach we will attempt to notify you as soon as possible through both the Services and by email.

We will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for these purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

Data disclosure

We may disclose automatically collected data and aggregated non-personally-identifiable data with third parties in order to help understand functionality of the Services and usage patterns.

We do not share your personally identifiable information with other persons or organizations outside of Quasar AS without your consent.

Data disclosure for law enforcement

In order to comply with the law, we may share information in response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, applicable law, legal process or governmental request. This includes, but does not limit to, law enforcement requirements.

We may share information if we believe it's necessary to prevent imminent and serious bodily harm to a person.

International data transfers

Your personal data may be transferred to and processed on computers located outside of your country, province, state or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction. The Services are hosted on computers located in Norway, Germany and the US.

Childrens Privacy

Children under the age of 13 are not allowed to use the Services. Individuals in the European Economic Area must be over the age required by laws of their country to use the Services. If we learn that personally identifiable information about persons less than 13 years of age has been collected we will take appropriate action to delete this information.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be subject to change from time to time. If we find these changes to be material, we will inform you through the Services and/or by email. Using the Services following changes to the Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
